YPReno runs in a browser, and it can also be installed. Installed, it gets its own icon, opens full screen with no address bar, and sits beside your other apps. It is the same app and the same account either way — nothing is downloaded from an app store, and there is nothing to update by hand.
The app will offer this to you itself once a project has a few items in it. If you dismissed that, or you want to do it now, the steps are below.
What you get
- Its own icon, on your home screen or in your dock.
- Full screen — no address bar and no browser tabs, so more of the screen is your renovation.
- One tap from the home screen, which is the point on a phone: a price you enter standing in a shop is two taps away rather than five.
- The same account and the same data. You stay signed in, and everything syncs exactly as it does in the browser.
What you do not get
There is no offline mode, and that is deliberate. YPReno will open without a connection, but it will not show your items, prices or payments — you get the app frame and its "cannot reach the server" state.
Every number in YPReno comes from the server, and a stale price or a payment that was actually deleted would be worse than no page at all: it would be quietly wrong about money. So the app never stores your renovation on the device. Nothing about installing changes that.
Installing also does not make it a different app. There is no extra feature behind it, no notifications, and nothing you can do installed that you cannot do in a browser tab.
iPhone and iPad
⚠️ Safari only. Chrome, Firefox and Edge on an iPhone or iPad cannot add anything to the home screen — Apple does not offer them the option. If you use one of those, open ypreno.com in Safari first.
- Open ypreno.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow coming out of it, in the toolbar.
- Scroll down the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add.
YPReno appears as an icon on your home screen and opens without Safari's toolbars.
Android
- Open ypreno.com in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu, top right.
- Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen if that is what your version calls it.
- Confirm.
Windows, Mac and Linux
In Chrome or Edge:
- Open ypreno.com.
- Click the install icon in the address bar, at the right-hand end. It appears only on a site that can be installed.
- If it is not there, use the ⋮ menu and look for Install — Chrome files it under Cast, save and share.
YPReno then opens in its own window, without tabs, and can be pinned to the taskbar or dock like anything else.
Safari on a Mac can add a site to the Dock from File → Add to Dock, and Firefox does not support installing at all — use Chrome or Edge.
Removing it
It uninstalls like any other app: press and hold the icon on a phone, or use your computer's normal uninstall route. Removing it signs nothing out and deletes nothing — your renovation is on the server, and the site still works in a browser.
When these steps were written
⚠️ Checked on 30 July 2026. The desktop steps were confirmed against Chromium 148, which covers Chrome and Edge of that generation. The iPhone, iPad and Android wording was last confirmed on real devices on 20 July 2026.
Browser menus move. Apple in particular has relocated the Share menu more than once, so if what you see does not match what is written here, trust the screen in front of you — and please tell us, because this page is then wrong.
